WHO ARE WE?
Tim Giblin I am a PhD candidate in the UAH Physics Dept. I completed my MS degree in physics at the University of Missouri St. Louis in 1993 and joined the BATSE Team in 1995. My thesis topic involves the study of Gamma Ray Burst temporal and spectral variability. I am a member of the Burst Team and the Rapid Burst Response Team. To learn more about my research work and interests, check out Tim's home page.
Surasak Phengchamnan My nick name is Billy. I am a Ph.D. astrophyiscs student at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. I have been working with BATSE team for about two years now. My work involves trigger processing, burst's flux-fluence analysis, occultaion analysis of X-Ray binary. Currently, I am studying the correlation of Hard X-Ray data of CygX-3 to it's radio and ultraviolet data. Please visit my home page for more information about myself.
Georgia Richardson Currently I am pursuing a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from UAH. I have been with the BATSE Team since Sept. 1993 during which I received my Masters degree in physics. Through the duration of my time with BATSE, I have worked with burst analysis, mission operations, and trigger operations. Currently I am working with a new instrument called SIFTER. Check out my home page for more info.
Recently graduated!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Colleen Wilson I first became a
member of the BATSE Team in 1989 while I was an undergraduate co-op
student from the University of Arkansas. In 1992, I became a full-time
civil service employee of NASA. I am currently pursuing a PhD in
physics at UAH through part-time studies. My research topic is
X-ray observations of accretion powered pulsars. I am a member of
the BATSE Pulsar
and Earth Occultation
Teams. I play Ultimate Frisbeein my
spare time.
Peter Woods I started with BATSE in August of 1995 at the same time I entered graduate school at UAH. Since that time I have completed my masters degree and gained entrance into the PhD program. I spend most of my research time studying the Bursting Pulsar and Soft Gamma Repeaters (SGRs). The remainder of my workday (& night) is focused primarily on Gamma-Ray Burst analysis as a member of the BATSE Rapid Burst Response Team.
