TSS-1 is comprised of 12 investigations. Seven investigators address the science goals of the TSS-1 mission, using equipment that either stimulates or monitors the tether system and its environment. Two investigators will use ground-based instruments to measure electromagnetic emissions from the Tethered Satellite System as it passes overhead, and three investigators were slected to provide theoretical support in the areas of dynamics and electrodynamics.
