SERVIR Participates in the USAID Partnership for Enhanced Engagement in Research (PEER) Bhutan Research Symposium to Share Department of State (DoS) Funded SERVIR Accomplishments with Various Bhutan Research Organizations

The US Agency for International Development (USAID) PEER Program has supported six research projects on various topics such as sustainable livelihood, environment conservation, and public health implemented by academic and research institutions in Bhutan. At the request of USAID, during the report out of the research accomplishments at the Partnership for Enhanced Engagement in Research (PEER) symposium, NASA SERVIR Project reported out on recent accomplishments in Bhutan to deliver the rice crop mapping service and future work for rice yield estimation service as well as capacity building accomplished under NASA Global Learning and Observation to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) and DEVELOP Projects. There was great interest in DoS funded NASA capacity building activities in Bhutan. Connections with Bhutan Foundation has great potential to facilitate the SERVIR service delivery and training planned for the summer of 2024 and many interested partners and collaboration ideas were identified for possible additional DoS funded work.
